Exterior

VW ID.7 - Performance at its best

The elegant design of the VW ID.7 is characterised by the aerodynamic front end and the sloping roof, reminiscent of a fastback. The air intakes at the front end guide the air flowing through them down the sides of the vehicle to the rear in a targeted way, forming an air curtain that calms the air flow at the sides of the vehicle. The roof slopes to the rear and thus contributes to the excellent drag coefficient (cd) of the ID.7, which is just 0.237 – for lower energy consumption and longer ranges.

Interior

VW ID.7 high-quality interior with plenty of space

The electric touring saloon from Volkswagen welcomes the driver and passengers with a completely redesigned and high-quality interior. In particular, its large wheelbase of 2966 mm ensures plenty of space in the interior, which is practically thought out down to the finest details.

Aerodynamic design and a range of up to 615 km (Pro) or 700 km (Pro S)

The aerodynamic design of the hatchback saloon is based on flowing, powerful and clean lines. Sophisticated aerodynamics with a cd figure of around 0.23 (depending on equipment) offer little resistance to the wind. Thanks to two different battery versions with 77 kWh and 86 kWh (each net), the VW ID.7 has a WLTP range of up to approx. 615 km (Pro) or even up to 700 km (Pro S).

Charging power and thermal management

The DC charging power is up to 170 kW (Pro) or up to 200 kW (Pro S). A new thermal management system ensures that the battery of the VW ID.7 is preconditioned before the charging stop. If the route guidance is active, this preconditioning starts automatically on the route to each charging station.

The VW ID.7 will be available with the new «smart glass» panoramic roof as an option. The transparent roof can be made opaque or transparent again from one moment to the next via a PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) layer integrated into the glass.

Underneath the infotainment display of the VW ID.7 are illuminated touch sliders, which are used to adjust the interior temperatures and the volume. The air conditioning menu, the temperature settings for driver and front passenger, and likewise configurable climate functions are always directly accessible.

The VW ID.7 will make its debut as the first Volkswagen to feature an augmented reality head-up display as standard. The cockpit layout thus follows a new path, as the ID.7 no longer requires conventional instruments.

New air conditioning with interactive, smart air vents

The VW ID.7 now features a new air conditioning system with active control of the air vents: smart air vents with electronically controlled vertical and horizontal motors open and close automatically, and distribute the air quickly and over wide areas of the interior via a fan function.

High level of travel comfort and new seats with air conditioning and massage function

The front seats have also been redesigned: for the first time in a Volkswagen, they offer adaptive seat Climatronic as an option. In addition to many individual settings, the driver and front passenger can activate an automatic mode for the seat climate; temperature and humidity sensors in the seats detect cooling and/or heating requirements and regulate the air conditioning accordingly. Special comfort is provided by the newly developed, optional massage function for the front seats.
