The IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights of the Tiguan

Inspiring light.

The innovative IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights on the new VW Tiguan, with more than 19,000 individually controllable LEDs, provide impressive brightness even when stationary. Welcome & Goodbye light projection, light strips on the radiator grille and rear of the vehicle, a dynamic indicator light, ambient lighting and illuminated door handles are impressive additions to its light signature.

Drives superbly and parks itself.

Your Volkswagen with optional Park Assist Plus can not only tell you whether a parking space is large enough as you drive past it – it will also park for you (within the limits of the system). Park Assist Plus constantly searches for suitable parking spaces at speeds of up to 30–40 km/h.

A new driving experience at the touch of a button.

Want to switch from sporty to comfortable and back again in no time at all? Thanks to the new atmospheres, it’s even possible to adjust several settings at the same time – from ambient light compositions to music playback and air conditioning. It’s like you’ve just swapped your Volkswagen while driving.

Colours create spaces.

Depending on the equipment level, you can light up the interior of the new VW Tiguan with just a tap of your finger. You can choose from up to 30 colours. Several light strips and illuminated decorative features then create your personal lighting atmosphere.

Effortless manoeuvring. Even with a large trailer.

The new VW Tiguan can pull up to 2.3 tonnes⁠, such as a caravan or horsebox trailer. The optional tow bar is hidden under the rear and folds down semi-automatically at the push of a button when needed. Further assistance is available courtesy of the optional Trailer Assist.

Say «hello» to your Tiguan.

With the new optional IDA voice assistant, you can use your voice to control the radio, the telephone feature, your music, the optional three-zone air conditioning and the optional navigation system. This also applies to other vehicle features such as access to driver assistance systems.

If you’re looking to make hassle-free phone calls while driving, the Comfort telephone interface offers you everything you need. Further details about the VW Tiguan

The engines of the VW Tiguan range from 130 hp up to 265 hp with the 2.0 TSI, which also includes the 4Motion all-wheel drive. In addition, two TDI diesel engines with 150 and 193 hp are available. The new eHybrid variant also achieves a longer range of up to 100 km compared to its predecessor due to the larger drive battery.

The Tiguan’s dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) ensures the fastest possible gear changes without loss of traction power while allowing for more economical driving. “Easy Open” recognises the car key when closeby and allows the boot to be opened with just a slight foot movement under the rear. The “Air Care Climatronic” air conditioning system (from “Life” onwards) offers an all-round good travel climate. You can adjust the temperatures individually for all occupants in three zones. The activated carbon filter protects you against pollen, fungal spores, fine dust and more.

Arrive at your destination feeling even more relaxed. The assistance systems in the VW Tiguan make your journey even more comfortable and safe. “Travel Assist” helps you to stay in your lane at a constant speed while maintaining a safe distance to the vehicle in front of you. “Front Assist” alerts you in the event of a possible collision with pedestrians or vehicles and even initiates emergency braking. **

Starter: “Starter” is the basic version of the VW Tiguan. It includes the “Ready 2 Discover” radio with “Streaming & Internet”, the “Front Assist” emergency braking assistant with Pedestrian Detection, LED headlights, Lane Keeping Assist and “Front Assist” including the City Emergency Brake function, but without Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Life: The “Life” version includes the triple-zone air-conditioning system, Park Assist with audible warning signals and tinted side windows and rear window.

Elegance: “Elegance” offers an attractive design and technical innovations, including alloy wheels, the “Easy Open & Close” keyless locking system, a rear camera, variable light distribution for the LED main headlights and Parking Assist.

R-Line: “R-Line” focuses on sporty design and high-quality equipment. 19-inch alloy wheels and a multifunction sports steering wheel in leather support the visual level. The roof spoiler ensures even more sportiness and less air resistance. The comfort is rounded off by the parking distance control at the front and rear as well as the cornering light.

The VW Tiguan is a combination of the two words “tiger” and “leguan”. The model got its name after a vote by the magazine Auto Bild, where it was up against four other names.

The VW Tiguan is a compact SUV manufactured by Volkswagen. It was presented for the first time at the International Motor Show IAA in September 2007. Since its launch, the SUV has recorded impressive numbers of registrations. The second generation of the Tiguan was launched in January 2016, and since September 2017, the range has been expanded with the long version under the name Allspace. In 2024, 3rd generation of the VW Tiguan will arrive on the market.

The Tiguan’s production sites are located in the VW factories in Osnabrück and Wolfsburg. The Tiguan Allspace is manufactured in Puebla, Mexico. In the Euro NCAP crash test, the Tiguan II achieved the best possible score of five out of five stars.
